How to attach a Word Document to a Joomla Article
This document is to show how to attach a Microsoft Word document to an article.
There are a couple of assumptions for the based the assumptions are as follows:
- Editor being used is JCE Editor.
- The Word document has been uploaded to a directory accessible to the JCE Editor.
- The document will not show how to create a directory to hold Word documents.
- The document will not show how to up load or FTP Word documents to Joomla directory.
Step 1 - Have Article open and have text area to attach Word Document to be defined.
Step 2 - Highlight text area where Word Document will be attached.
Step 3 - Click on the “Insert/Edit Link” button.
Step 4 - When the “Advance Link” Window comes up, click on the “Browse” button.
Step 5 - Navigate to the directory where documents reside and select the document to be attached to article on the highlighted word.
Step 6 - Click on the “Insert” button on the “Browser” window and then click on the “Insert Button” on the “Advanced Link” Window.
Step 7 - The previously highlighted word will now be underlined and a different color signifying a link attached to the word.
Step 8 - Click “Apply” or “Save” to save the changes to the article.
Step 9 - Check the article on the website to insure the link works and is attached to the correct document.
